Meet The Team

We are proud to have a dedicated team of qualified teachers, educational tutors, sports coaches and business managers each of whom are of the highest professional standard throughout the UK.

All members of our highly skilled team hold a number of academic and teaching qualifications and NGB sports instructor awards. They also all possess full DBS disclosure, First Aid certificates and public liability insurance for £10million.

Led by our Managing Director and National CPD tutor, Neil Cameron, staff also receive comprehensive training every three months on the most effective teaching methods within skills, health and Physical Education.

Neil Cameron – Managing Director

Neil founded Sport Works in 2008 having previously worked as a Sport Science lecturer (UWIC) and Performance Manager (England Athletics).

A former long jumper (before retiring at the grand age of 24!), Neil’s role is to strategically manage the business and ensure the Sport Works team continually provide the highest quality of service throughout the UK.

 

 

 

 Brian Smith – Non Executive Director

Brian has held CEO and senior management positions in a range of international organisations for over 20 years. He is a specialist in financial  management, strategic leadership and change management and works closely with Neil in the role of Finance Director and the Senior Management Team in an advisory capacity.

 

 

 

 

Elisha Maguire – Regional Manager

Elisha started her career with England Netball as a community development coach/tutor and worked across several regions within sports development, coach education and project management before joining Sport Works.  A qualified tutor and coach educator in her own right, Elisha is responsible for the management of our sports coaching, disability sport and Aspire contracts throughout the North East region.   Managing our delivery teams, Elisha is also the first point of contact for both our clients and families in the region.

Outside of work Elisha enjoys walking in the Northumberland countryside having returned to the North East where she attended Northumbria University.

 

 

Sarra Scougall – Skills Development Manager

Sarra is responsible for the management of the contracts sitting in the “Skills” division of Sport Works, ensuring contracts are successful and compliant and that a quality service is delivered to young people across the provision.

Sarra started her career in education and training as a tutor at HMP Durham and HMP Low Newton.  Since then she has worked on a range of SFA, EFA, ESF, Ministry of Justice and DWP contracts.

She has a passion for quality teaching and for education/training that can have a positive impact on the lives of young people.

 

Keeley Turton – Quality Assurance

Keeley oversees and manages both quality and compliance across the business, specialising in key areas of the Common Inspection Framework, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.  Currently overseeing the quality of delivery for our “skills” based contracts. Keeley will work closely with the Senior Management Team to ensure our forthcoming Apprenticeship programme meets all Ofsted and SFA requirements.

Keeley started her career working in the health and social care sector, before becoming a training adviser and quality and compliance specialist.

 

 

Mashud Choudhury – Franchise Development Manager

Mashud holds responsibility for the marketing and management of the Sport Works franchise business, taking the lead to identify new franchise partners and support the existing Sport Works network.

 

Mashud has an extensive background in both franchising and marketing having been a franchise manager for over 15 years. He has worked with both franchisees and franchisors in the UK and abroad and is passionate about supporting people into self employment.

 

Anne Williams – Business Support ManagerSportworks Team Member Anne

Anne provides operational and administrative support across the Sport Works network, working closely with the Managing Director, the senior team and individual franchisees to deliver the company vision.

Anne’s career spans across cultural and creative industries including the BBC, The Arts Council and The National Trust and brings significant project management experience to support the Sport Works team.
